Linda Barton spent over 20 years as an Operations and Customer Service Manager in the IT, training and education services sectors. Before taking a career break she developed and managed the training and support service desk for further education systems specialist Fretwell-Downing Education. Subsequently, she developed administrative and financial services for Mayfield Training, which provides high level training services to the financial and legal sector in the UK and overseas.
Since joining Sero in 2004, Linda has managed a wide range of projects and led on our event management. Her assignments have included:
- Managing a series of high profile roadshows and conferences for the Yorkshire Forward Digital 20/20 regional economy programme
- Organising a project showcase and workshop at the European Commission Digital Agenda Assembly in Brussels
- Organising a conference for the Scottish Qualifications Authority Digital Industry Vendor Alliance programme involving representatives from global IT industry partners
Linda currently manages the city-wide BiG Challenge enterprise competition, now in its eleventh year, including programming and managing the key Awards events, engaging and liaising with schools and colleges, bringing sponsors on board and managing sponsor relationships.
